At present, the printer mainly includes laser printer, inkjet printer and needle printer, which can be widely used in three categories: multiple uses and printing machines in the industry. It can be said that their use has greatly reduced our labor intensity, improved work efficiency and made the office environment easier. However, due to various reasons, printers often have one kind or another of faults after being used for a period of time, and these faults are concentrated on the three main components of these three types of printers, namely, the photosensitive drum of laser printers, the ink cartridge of inkjet printers, and the print head of needle printers. Knowing the maintenance and repair methods of these three components is equal to repairing and preventing 60% of the faults of printers, This is undoubtedly of great significance to printer users and maintenance personnel. The following will introduce the maintenance and repair methods of these three parts, hoping to help you use and repair the printer

I. Methods and skills of laser printer drum maintenance

drum is an important factor that determines the quality of laser printing. The repair and maintenance of photosensitive drum mainly includes the following four points:

1 Maintenance of photosensitive drum

the use time and exposure times of photosensitive drum are limited, especially in the case of long-term continuous exposure, the damage to the photosensitive drum is relatively severe. Therefore, users should pay more attention to the maintenance of the photosensitive drum when using it at ordinary times. Here are a few maintenance methods for your reference:

(1) cleaning of the photosensitive drum

the photosensitive drum should be cleaned and maintained after a certain period of use. The methods are:

1) carefully remove the photosensitive drum assembly, wipe the surface with degreased cotton or advanced photographic lens paper, but do not use force to prevent scratching the surface of the photosensitive drum

2) wipe the surface of the photosensitive drum with absorbent cotton or advanced photographic lens paper dipped in the special detergent for the photosensitive drum. When wiping, the method of gently screwing in one direction should be adopted, and the detergent should be wiped off immediately with degreased cotton after polishing

3) gently pat a layer of talcum powder on the drum surface with gauze containing talcum powder, and then put it back into use

(2) timely remove the waste powder collection bin

usually when replacing toner, pay attention to clean up the waste powder in the waste powder collection bin to avoid affecting the output effect. Because when the waste powder accumulates too much, the phenomenon of "powder leakage" will first appear, that is, irregular black spots and black blocks appear on the output sample (generally in the longitudinal direction). If they are not eliminated and continue to be used, after a period of time, all the operations of the experiment rely on the color of the old and new building blocks in the CRT room. There will be serious bottom ash (with longitudinal scratches) at the "powder leakage". The reason for this failure is that at first, the waste powder is too full, so that the regenerated waste powder cannot enter the waste powder bin, and the waste powder in the waste powder bin will continue to "squeeze" out, resulting in "powder leakage". Then, because the waste powder contains dirt such as paper ash and fiber, it is rough, and it can be rubbed for a long time only by making the general foundation according to the foundation drawing and leaving the anchor screw hole for pouring and consolidation, and the contact is tighter and tighter, and the pressure is greater and greater, Finally, the photosensitive drum coating on the surface of the photosensitive drum will be worn off, and the photosensitive drum will be damaged. Therefore, the bottom ash of the output paper sample is serious and has been subject to longitudinal friction, that is, if longitudinal scratches can be seen in the bottom ash, the waste powder bin should be cleaned immediately

(3) the photosensitive drum cannot be used continuously

the photosensitive drum of the laser printer is a silicone photoconductor, which has the problem of work fatigue. Therefore, the continuous working time should not be too long. If the output is large, you can stop and rest for a while after working for a period of time before continuing to output. It is better to put it for a week or more before using it. Generally, it is recommended to use more than 2 cartridges interchangeably to avoid the fatigue of the photosensitive drum

2. Repair the photosensitive drum by wiping with chemical reagent

after the laser printer is used for a long time, the output text and image will be blurred, the bottom ash will be heavier, and the font will become longer. The general reason is that the photosensitive characteristics of the photosensitive drum surface facial mask are aging, the surface potential decreases, and the residual voltage increases. In this case, it is generally believed that only the photosensitive drum can be replaced. In fact, the practice of maintenance tells us that in this case, we can also use the following methods to repair: buy some chromium trioxide at the chemical reagent store, take grams each time, dip some chromium trioxide directly with degreased cotton, and wipe it gently, evenly and without omission along the direction of the photosensitive drum shaft. Take special care when wiping to avoid scratching the photosensitive tympanic membrane with nails and other hard objects. Do not use too much force to prevent the photosensitive drum from being worn out and scrapped. In this way, the tired photosensitive drum surface layer can be removed to expose the photosensitive surface that has not yet aged. Generally speaking, the repaired photosensitive drum can re output more than 1000 or 2000 sheets of paper, so that the service life of the photosensitive drum can be extended. You might as well try it. However, if the photosensitive film of the photosensitive drum has fallen off, it cannot be repaired by this method, and only a new drum can be replaced. In addition, in order to prevent the photosensitive material fatigue of the photosensitive drum, if the user has conditions, he can use two drums in turn. Wrap the unused photosensitive drum with black paper, put it in a cool place, and let it work after a period of recovery. Using the photosensitive drum in turn can not only ensure the print quality, but also prolong the service life of the photosensitive drum

3. Extend the service life of the photosensitive drum by sunlight

because the Epson series laser printer has superior printing performance and convenient operation performance, it also has a considerable number of users in the society. However, because its consumables are expensive and its selenium drum is easy to fatigue, when it is tired, the surface of the selenium drum cannot be powered off, leaving a very "heavy" background color on the printing medium, which directly affects the printing effect

although it was mentioned above that wiping the selenium drum with chromium trioxide can eliminate the fatigue of the selenium drum, this method is not necessarily feasible. Because chromium trioxide is a solid particle (which cannot be dissolved), when it is used to wipe the surface of the selenium drum, it may damage the surface of the selenium drum. Some friends have tried this method, but it has no effect, and the surface damage of selenium drum is very serious. After many tests, we also found a very simple method to eliminate the fatigue on the surface of the selenium drum. After this method is used, a selenium drum can print more than 15000 manuscripts

the specific methods are as follows: when the selenium drum has fatigue, carefully remove the shell of the selenium drum first. In order to prevent damage to the surface of the selenium drum, wrap the surface of the selenium drum with a piece of soft cloth. After removing the shell, carefully pull out the selenium drum and expose it to the sun for one to two hours. Although the instructions of the printer say that it is strictly forbidden to expose the selenium drum to the sun. Then pour out the toner in the waste powder box. You can use a small screwdriver to paddle back and forth at the mouth of the waste powder box, and the toner will come out soon. In this way, you can prevent the dust from flying around when pouring the powder. Collect the poured toner and pour it into the toner box, and you can save a sum of money. Then use a soft cloth to clean the surface of the selenium drum and some parts of the powder box. After that, install the selenium drum, that is, it is done

4. replacement method and precautions of photosensitive drum

as an important part of laser printer, the rated service life of photosensitive drum is generally about 6000-10000 pieces. When it is found that the printing image is light and uneven, and it is not caused by the transfer corona electrode and toner, the service life of the photosensitive drum is terminated, and it should be replaced

take the commonly used HP 6L printer toner drum as an example to introduce the replacement method of the photosensitive drum:

first, cut off the power supply of the printer, take out the toner drum from the printer, then clamp the metal pin on one side with diagonal pliers, and pull it out carefully with force (or put the metal pin into the toner drum with a nail, and take out the metal pin after opening the toner drum), After the silver metal pins on both sides are pulled out, the selenium drum can be divided into two parts. The side with light blue photosensitive selenium is the collection part of waste powder, and the side with magnetic roller is the powder supply part

then screw off the screws on the gearless side of some magnetic rollers for powder supply. After taking off the plastic shell, you can see a plastic cover. Open the plastic cover and clean up all the toner in the toner bin and on the magnetic rollers. Be sure to clean up all the residual toner, preferably with a vacuum cleaner. Then install the magnetic roller in the reverse order just now. At this time, press and hold the magnetic roller with force to prevent the magnetic roller from leaving the original position. Shake the toner evenly and slowly pour it into the powder supply bin. Put on the plastic cover and plastic shell. Pay attention to align the semicircular hole on the end of the central shaft of the magnetic roller with the semicircular hole on the plastic shell. Gently rotate the gear on the side of the magnetic roller for several turns to evenly fill the toner

now the most important step is to replace the new photosensitive drum. Pull out the fixed pin fixing the photosensitive drum in the waste powder collection part with a diagonal pliers. Note: the fixed pin cannot be driven into the selenium drum with a nail. After pulling out the fixed pin, take out the old photosensitive drum, and then clean up the waste powder in the waste powder collection part. Replace the new photosensitive drum in the reverse order of disassembly. When installing the photosensitive drum, it should be noted that there are left and right sides, and install the butting groove on the side with gear. Then fix the fixing pin to fix the photosensitive drum. The newly purchased photosensitive drum has a black anti exposure seal, which must not be removed before installation to prevent exposure. It can be removed only after installation and inspection. Finally, install and restore the powder supply part and waste powder collection part according to the position when they are disassembled, insert the metal pins on both sides, and then you can start printing

pay attention to the following points when replacing:

1) do the necessary cleaning work after removing the photosensitive drum. After the new photosensitive drum is opened, it should be directly loaded into the box base and into the machine as soon as possible. Do not put the photosensitive drum in the sun directly, nor let its surface touch hard objects

2) do not touch the surface of the photosensitive drum with hands or unclean objects. When there is dust attached, it can only be brushed gently with a soft brush, and cannot be wiped with any detergent. If necessary, it can be cleaned with toner

3) the photosensitive drum and toner are integrated mechanisms, which should be replaced in sets at the same time. Shake the toner well before loading

4) when replacing, the toner falling inside and outside the printer can be removed with a vacuum cleaner and wiped with anhydrous alcohol

5) the replacement work should be carried out in a dark studio

in addition, it should be noted that the photosensitive drum is valid for two and a half years at the end of removal, and the validity period after unpacking is 6 months. The drum box is printed with the validity period, and must be used within the validity period
